Rabobank’s move to new offices in San Francisco provided the Dutch investment bank - established more than 100 years ago as a farmers’ cooperative - with an opportunity to highlight its agricultural legacy, egalitarian culture, and commitment to sustainability. Gensler encouraged Rabobank to pursue LEED-CI SILVER certification and worked with SideMark and other consultants to meet the related requirements while also fulfilling the overall design vision. The latter dictated that in addition to the use of sustainable materials, the 23 employees move from closed offices to a much more open, transparent workplace.
